NOTD: Monochrome Paisley

 Hello ladies!
Finishing college and not working as much as I would like has left me lots of free time to do my nails, yaaay! At work my nails get so chipped so easily, as I'm sure you fellow retail workers would know, and I have recently given up with painting them with pretty patterns for them to only look on their last legs after just a few hours.

This time I thought I'd try a paisley pattern in black and white. I had tried to do a coloured version of this a few night before, but it failed and I think attempting to do it at 3am may have had something to do with it! Anyway, above was the end result.. not perfect but something I can work on. Practice makes perfect and all that usual jazz. So here is what I used to create the design, not many things and not hard at all!

Rimmel London | Black Cab
Barry M | Matt White
Nail Art Brushes | eBay
Considering this was the first time I'd used my nail art brushes, please do excuse the state of them! Whilst ordering my friend Charlotte's Birthday present, I had to nab myself a new set of these too! I am still to find a way of cleaning them properly though, as nail-varnish remover seems to make them go stiff making it harder to apply polish next time around!

I painted my nails in a few coats of the Matte White as it does take a few layers to build up the colour and also takes a while to dry. I then used the brush on the left to create most of the pattern with the black polish, the middle to do the polka dots and the more intricate tiny lines, and the right one to do the stripes and made each nail up as I went along, basically!

The design actually wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and I think I'm quite pleased with the results..although my mum keeps telling me they look like eye balls rather than paisley haha.

Have you tried this pattern before? I'd love to see some of your nail art designs!

Thanks for reading!

P.S. Sorry for the top photo not being completely in focus, I'm still trying to get to grips with my camera. Hello newbie blogger over here! Haha

  3. This is really bloody good! You could try cleaning with nail polish remover, then maybe use a bit of shampoo after to soften them? Just an idea, no idea if it would actually work.

Excited to try mine out still, no idea what to try out though! Thanks again you babe.

Ooh you'll have to look around to get some inspiration! My Mum bought a paisley maxi dress, which got the idea going haha. It's no problem, I hope you enjoy them :) xx
