When we arrived we were greeted with a free green tea (I had never ever had one before, but my was it yummy!) and the set up above. A plate filled with avocado, cucumber, carrot, sesame seeds, chilli powder, tofu, egg, fish eggs, crab, our own rolling mat to take home, a step by step booklet (including a 25% off voucher for our next Yo! Sushi trip) and two cute trays to take all our food home in! There was no way that I thought we would fill them both, but we made so much I couldn't fit it all in!!
We were taught through the different ingredients that make up a sushi roll, the rice, the nori and the fillings as well as how to make different rolls such as the California Roll, Nigiri, ISO and loads more. I never would have thought that so much skill went into the actual rolling. I kept getting in a right pickle and holding the class up a little, oops! Luckily there was only five of us in the group, so there was lots of time for questions, chit chat and giggles in between.
And this is how much sushi I made on my own! Unfortunately I had to save the majority of it until the following day because I ate a HUGE burrito from a market in Brick Lane (can't for the life of me remember which market) for lunch. It was seriously such a fun evening and I would recommend any sushi lover to take on the experience. The price for the two of us was £50 or £30pp which I thought was great value for money considering how much food we had to take away and how much of an unusual experience it was! I must confess, I had never actually eaten Yo! Sushi before.. I have eaten sushi, just not from their particular restaurant and when I'm back in England I am without a shadow of doubt taking full advantage of the discount voucher we were given!
A little bit of a different post from me, I don't think I have ever written a lifestyle post before. Crazy, huh?! Anyway I hope you enjoyed and expect an outfit post from this day soon!
Sam xx
