OOTD- A SEVEN NATION ARMY COULDNT HOLD ME BACK

In true blogger style I'm sat in Starbucks writing this well over due post with the biggest mug of hot chocolate I have ever set my eyes on. (I can't quite deal with the stereotypical latte's and mocha's, I'm no where near that stage of adult hood yet). Oh, also listening to a 'Throwback Thursday' playlist on Spotify that I cannot get enough of at the moment!

OOTD-WOOLY SKIRT

These last couple of weeks have been hectic! My life is being taken over by essay after essay- not cool! I can't believe this is my first post since I've given my hair a bit of a chop! It's surprisingly growing quite quick and I feel like I'm missing the shortness already and that scares me because I will probably end up going shorter!

FIRMOO GLASSES REVIEW

I was kindly sent some glasses by the company 'Firmoo', an American based online glasses retailer that sell prescription glasses, sunglasses and even fashion glasses. Seeing as I don't actually wear prescription glasses, I thought I would go for a pair for 'fashion reasons only', as I thought they would make casual outfits a bit more playful and preppy. I chose a tortoise shell pair, as I can't seem to shake off my love for this look when on the hunt for sunglasses, and I think it's a pretty chic pattern!

One thing that crossed my mind and worried me a little was 'how on earth am I supposed to know what suits me just from pictures of the frames?' This is one reason why I will never ever buy sunglasses from places like ASOS, simply because 9 times out of 10 if I try on sunglasses I look like a totally ridiculous. Ask my friends and my Boyfriend, they will tell you that nothing suits my head haha. Anyway, Firmoo's website does actually have a brilliant feature where you can upload a picture of yourself and view some of their frames as if you were wearing them, so handy and definitely something other retailers should try and take under their wing!

MY BOXING DAY SALES PICKS

Hi all!
I hope you all had a great Christmas, I know I did!
After trawling through the boxing day online sales, I thought I would make a little post of my favourite bits I have found. I have to admit, I am a little disappointed so far with the sales, but it'll probably be a different story when I'm actually in stores!

I went to Primark and I bought...

The other day I went for a much needed Primark trip. Unfortunately, here in Madrid Primark shops aren't anywhere near as popular as in England where they seem to be in every town (apart from my home town, of course). So, I hopped on a couple of buses to be on my way with an adventure to find Primark, and I did it! Here's a couple of snaps of what I bought.

My first pick was the flannel black and white shirt. I have been after the perfect one for a very, very long time, probably even since before summer and I have had no luck...until now of course! I did have in mind one with slightly smaller checks, however this one is absolutely perfect for winter as it's thick and cosy! It was a steal at only €13.

Next I made a dive for the jewellery. I must admit I was a little disappointed by their selection, but it was probably a good thing as I am very guilty of buying jewellery and losing it within a week.
My favourite of the two is the layered silver necklace. It's simple and quite dainty! That was only €3 and the other was only €4.

I had previously told myself that I would not buy any more footwear until I found the perfect pair of practical winter boots. And well, I ignored my inner self like a rebellious teenage girl. I couldn't not get these, they're so comfy and I love the croc print. They were €18, so slightly more expensive than other Primark shoes, but still a whole lot cheaper than other brands, lets face it.

Oh my, can we all just appreciate the colour and wonderful shape, please? I was walking round and round the store, picking up endless amounts of clothes and forcing myself to put everything back but this one I just couldn't shake off my mind. I tried it on and felt like I couldn't leave the shop without it. I couldn't really justify buying another coat but in the end, you always do don't you! It looks great with the shirt and I'm on the hunt for a black roll neck jumper which I think will look great too. At €30 I thought it was quite a steal!

Lastly, the scarf which you may or may not have noticed on my Lush haul post. I picked it up on a quick in and out trip to Primark a couple of weeks ago. It's such a big old scarf and pretty much drowns me when I wear it, I love it! It was only €7.

What are your favourite bits I bought and have you got your eye on anything in Primark at the moment? Do you think they're doing well this season with their casual and sparkly Christmassy bits?

I hope you enjoyed my clothing haul post (first ever may I add!)

¡Hasta Luego!

Geometric- OOTD

Jumper | H&M | Old
Bag | Fashion Pills | £16.99
Skirt | Lefties | €12.99
Boots | River Island | Old (Similar)
Rings | Primark |

Hola! Apologies for the intentional face crop in the first photo, I wasn't pulling the most attractive of faces, oopsy.

This is an outfit I wore last week when the weather was a bit chilly, but my oh my has it perked up now!

My boyfriend and I did a spot of shopping and walked round a part of Madrid we had never been to before. We felt pretty naive as we were outside a huge building with everyone taking pictures but we had no clue what it was haha!

This skirt I picked up within the first couple of weeks of moving here. When I first looked at it I thought it was shorts but it turned out to be a skirt.. I think that's why I love it so much!

Sorry for doing a post where things may not necessarily be in shops at the moment, or priced in Euros, but I thought I would share with you anyway!

I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend, I'm off out tonight with my housemates (I should probably start getting ready, so I shall be off). Have a lovely weekend guys and I'll speak soon!

¡Hasta luego!

This Years First OOTD

Coat | Primark | £15
Top | Miss Guided | £13.99
Jeans | Primark | £5
Boots | Clothes Minded | £10
Bracelets | Primark | £3?
Rings | Primark | £2.50

Happy New Year everyone! What a surprise that my first post obviously shows me making good use of the January sales. The months after Christmas, nothing seems worse to me than having to pay full price for clothes, I mean... who does that?
This top from Missguided I was very happy to see in the sale. I had borrowed my housemates dress in the same trapeze style for a night out and absolutely loved it. After the realisation that I probably shouldn't buy the exact same dress as her sank in, I settled for this, which I think actually suits my style a bit more because it's black, baggy and flowery. Woohoo!

The boots I received as a present from my boyfriend for Christmas, after I may have pointed them out to him/ hinted a couple of times. They're such a bargain and surprisingly comfortable for the price! Also, expect another post on them soon as I've just ordered rather a lot from their website!

I'd been after some acid wash jeans for a while and after seeing these for only a fiver in Primark, it was hard to resist!

I hope you all have a good Christmas and are settling into the New Year well.
I have made it a New Years resolution to blog more this year... probably one of those that every blogger has. However, now I have my own camera which I saved long and hard for- there ain't no stoppin' me!

Thanks for reading and expect to hear from me very soon!

OOTD - Aztec Dress

Necklace | Primark | £4
Jumper | Internationale | (Last Year)
Dress | Primark | £5
Boots | Ebay
Belt | Primark

This is an outfit I wore a few weeks ago, when the weather was pleasant yet not as scorching as it is now! I've worn this dress today too, but not with the jumper or I think I'd melt!

I've been loving my cheap dresses recently (as you may have noticed from my last post). I remember last year always being disappointed at the lack of summery clothes in my wardrobe, and I always comment on how pretty dresses look on other people but I never seemed to wear them myself for some reason? So I've been picking up a few dresses recently, and I must say I do enjoy wearing them! I was particularly pleased with this one as I've seen very similar designs in Topshop, and we all know how much I love a Topshop rip-off!

This think jumper I picked up last year.. or maybe even the year before(?) in Internationale. I did find it hard to think of what to wear it with for a time, because it's cropped and high waisted trousers and leggings didn't seem to be raved about that much then. However, I did find it to go ideally with this dress, and I've worn it with skirts too. I love to wear it with all black outfits to add a bit more of an exciting texture!

At the moment I feel so bored! I feel like I'm just waiting for Uni to come back around- I can't wait to move into our new house later in the year! I'm going for a few job interviews but don't seem to be having much luck. Everyone by me seems to be clinging onto their jobs and not wanting to let them go! And of course there is never enough summer jobs to go round and please all the returning home University students. What a tough life, aye! Haha.

I should have a few more posts lined up soon, seeing as I have nothing to do with my days!

Thankyou for reading!

£5 Dress Event at Matalan?!

Yesterday I thought I'd have a brief browse on the Matalan website and see what hidden gems I could find. A lot of people refer to Matalan as a bit of an old fogey shop, which probably was it's reputation a good decade or so ago. However, I see it as one of those shops that copies the likes of Topshop and Miss Selfridge (like pretty much every high street stores do), but Matalan seem to get it right pretty much every time and always with a low price.

Anyway, as I was mooching through the dresses, I noticed that from today until Sunday 7th July you can nab yourself some dresses at only a fiver each! (Like what they did there- always looking at other brands for inspiration- Ahem *Motel Rocks*). If I'm honest, I didn't think they would be worth a look at first, assuming they'd be the worst of the bunch, but I was pleasantly surprised!

I thought I'd show you my favourite dresses from the deal and show you how I'd wear them... In an ideal world if I wasn't a student and money was no object. I hope you like!

Click the picture for a direct link to the site.

Dress | Matalan
Boots | Miss Guided
Jacket | Boohoo
Skull Ring | ASOS
Cross Ring | ASOS
Belt | New Look

This dress is definitely my favourite and there is no chance I'm seeing this amazing offer through without getting my hands on this! Classic me, pairing everything with black, but it can't be helped with some of us- aye!
I have been on the look out for boots like this for yonks! Just without the hefty price tag that some of them come with. Now Miss Guided have got them, I may have to treat myself! Although I'm sure if Miss Guided have them Primark will be soon to follow!
I love the look of black red and silver jewellery together, and I think this outfit would be perfect for piling up the silver rings.

Dress | Matalan
Necklace | Topshop
Cardigan | Internationale
Ring | Topshop

This polka dot skater dress can probably be found in any shop, but who can blame them for being everywhere? They're so cute! And with the monochrome colours, the possibilities are endless as to what you could wear this with!
I paired it with this teal cardigan from Internationale which is also only £5. I thought it would also look great with a plain coloured Kimono, but none of them particularly caught my eye.
I thought with this look gold jewellery would work a treat, and kept it simple with only one ring but a big chunky gold chain.

 Dress | Matalan
Cardigan | Miss Guided
Boots | New Look
Necklace | ASOS
Sunglasses | ASOS

This skater Midi is my next favourite. I think it's a nice change to see a midi dress that's so tight it's squishing your insides out! (Maybe I'm just a little jealous of the people that can wear them).
Anyway, although neutral dresses can be fairly boring, they're so adaptable and can be layered so easily. Here, I paired it with this tie dye cardigan from Miss Guided. On a recent trip to Urban Outfitters there was a cardigan very similar to this for £70 and I fell in love with it but I couldn't justify spending the money- I think this well may be the next best thing!
The little necklace from ASOS I love, I think it's so cute and dainty but can make such an impact on an outfit.

I really hope you enjoyed this post, it's something a little different to what I usually do.
Do you like me rummaging online and making outfit posts?
Should I do more outfit posts on current deals/ offers?
Let me know what you think!

Thanks for reading!

OOTD- Summer Lovin'

As much as the weather has been so lovely recently, I haven't had much of a chance to enjoy it at all apart from yesterday and today. Yesterday I went out in a black dress and thin black jumper- but ohhh my God I thought I was melting all day. So, today I took a more...sensible approach and this is what I wore!

Top | H&M
Belt | Primark | £5
Skirt | Primark
Converse | Office
Sunglasses | Primark | £2.50

I'm sorry I haven't put the prices with anything! I'm probably being blind as a bat but I couldn't find the top anywhere on the H&M website. I think it cost £12.99 but I could be totally wrong! The skirt I think cost £8...again could be totally wrong haha. Oh, what a failure I am at these posts!

The belt I picked up last year, but I seem to be wearing it all the time recently with high-waisted things!  It doesn't really show well in the picture, but it's a rose gold finish. I do love it (pardon the pun and all that), although I did think at first the slogan on it was a bit cringey, but I like it now :). I've spotted one similar this year with a silver finish that says 'Peace' I think? Which I tried hard to resist buying!

Anyway, as much as I like wearing skirts and dresses, I always seem to pick the windiest days to wear them. As much as I like wearing this skirt, because I'm a bit tall the hem at the front is obviously a bit nearer to my crotch area, so I was pretty much holding the front of the skirt down all the way to the doctors!

I hope you all enjoyed this post. There'll be plenty more outfits to come.

Enjoy the rest of the lovely weather!

OOTD: Winter Chill

This weekend I went home for a few days just to visit a few friends and family. I went into London with my boyfriend where I spent a little bit of money I do not have. You've gotta treat yourself a little bit haven't you! (Although clearly I've done it a bit too much since being let lose with a student loan). I found Carnaby Street at long last after being told every time I go into London that it's a street you've got to visit and I loved it!

It was so strange being home in my little town. It was weird living in my old life for the weekend and then coming back to Uni on Sunday living a completely different life. It was a nice break seeing my family though, something which I think I needed.

Anyway, we went for a little walk on Sunday lunch time. I put on a few of my new bits and here is what I wore!

 Snood | Primark (last year) | £6
Jacket | Internationale (old) | £12
'Disco Pants' | Ark Clothing | £34.99
Creepers | New Look | £19.99

T-shirt | Monki | £15
Necklace | Monki | £6
Casio Watch

Weekly Wishlist

1.  Spike Pendant Necklace | Newlook | £6.99
2. Cut Out Maxi Dress | Miss Guided | £17.99
3. Lace Insert Tunic | Miss Selfridge | £32.00
4. Camo Jacket | Ark | £29.99
5. Bow Ankle Wellies | New Look | £37.99
6. Zig-Zag Rings | ASOS | £10.00
7. Leather Studded Bag | Topshop | £85.00

Another Weekly Wishlist again!

The first thing I can say about this wishlist is... how ANNOYING is it that Primark doesn't have a proper website? I took a trip there at the weekend (with limited funds as always) and there was so so many things I neeeded to have, but couldnt :( Primark, if you're out there, get your website sorted! Haha.

Anyway, lets get right into it instead of an unnecessary and boring intro!

Firstly the spike necklace, something which can make any plain out boring outfit stand out that little bit more and become a bit more exciting. Plus, if you haven't noticed I have a thing for dark colours and studded clothing and accessories.

This cut out maxi dress I think is just stunning and such a great price. Probably two wishes in one, obviously the first of having the dress but secondly being able to have the figure to pull this one off! I can say that I love it but I doubt very much I'd be brave enough to wear it! Anyway, such a chic yet simple dress which would be great for looking that bit more classy on a night out, but still showing a whooole lotta flesh haha.

Miss Selfridge is somewhere that I think gets skimmed over a lot, but they always have something in there that I like! This jumper looks so cosy and comfy to wear and could easily be worn with black tights or black skinnies with black ankle boots.

Everyone and their mother has a jacket in this style, but I still really want one. Again, something to jazz up a boring outfit, can just be thrown on over anything making it easy, yet effective ;) haha.

I'm jealous of anyone going to a festival this year, so so jealous! And one thing that's making me even more jealous (yes I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous) but I keep seeing so many nice wellies everywhere? I feel like just buying a pair to wear everyday but I'm sure that wouldn't go down too well with people in my 'local area'. Now I wouldn't pay nearly £40 for a pair of little wellies unless I won millions on the lottery- yes I am really that much of a tight arse.. but I thought I'd just pop these on here as one of the pieces that's well outta my league!

I just love zig zags, intertwining rings and wearing different kinds of metal. Cant really say much else I dont think?

Lastly, I need a new bag soooo badly! Although, as you'd probably guess, I wouldn't pay this much for a bag, but one can wish on such a splendid item!

Sorry for the rubbish posting recently, I've had such a busy weekend! And on Thursday I'm off to Turkey for two weeks, so I'm going to try and get a few posts sorted out for then if I have time- Sorry if not! (There will be plenty more when I get back!)

Tuesday, 7 August 2012

Weekly Wishlist

1. Thin Knit Jumper | New Look | £14.99
2. Palm Leaf Jeans | Motel Rocks| £48.00
3. Lipstick and Gloss | Superdrug | Look Makeup- Red alert | £8.00
4. Barry M | Superdrug | Mint Green Polish | £2.99
5. Gold Tone Watch | River Island | £25.00
6. Platform Sandals | Internationale | £27.99
7. Double Zip Tote | New Look | £19.99

I'm back again, with another Weekly Wishlist! I enjoy doing these posts as for some reason I tend to look at things and piece together outfits in my head that I wouldn't normally give much thought about. I think this is probably because I only tend to do online shopping when I know EXACTLY what I'm looking for. I'm more of a browser online than a buyer. (Apart from eBay, but that's a complete different story all together).

So first on the list, a grey 3/4 sleeved jumper. I know this seems boring, but grey is so versatile and jumpers are too. I love the autumn months and can imagine this with black jeans and a white studded collar shirt underneath or under a black leather jacket and scarf in the colder months. A realistic wishlist number- for once?

I'm quite surprised I like the Motel jeans actually, but they can be dressed up or down, with heels on a night out with a floaty vest top or dressed down with a jumper (can you tell I love jumpers yet?) or a shirt.

I've only got two of Looks nail varnish's (or 'Nail Pop' as they call them) and just trying these has made me intrigued to try more of their range. This lipstick looks quite interesting, as the lipstick is matte, which I love the look of, and I think the gloss on top of  this colour would look great too. And that's quite something for me to say as I can't really stand lipgloss, but definitely something I'm willing to try out more!

Barry M nail varnish, what more can I say really? I could almost guarantee everyone has one in their collection, they're affordable with a good range of colours (although they may not tend to last particularly long).

This watch just reminds me of a watch of the Michael Kors variety. I would love to own a real Michael Cors  watch, but if you cant afford one you always know you can find similar on the high-street, eh?

The heels are absolutely gorgeous and a 'knock-off' of Jeffery Campbells. I must admit, regrettably, that I probably wouldn't wear them as I'm not the biggest fan of peep toes on myself, but they are something very special! Lets just leave it at that before I get carried away...

Finally the bag. This sort of style with the chain has been round for a while now, and to be honest I thought I had grown to hate it long ago, this re-kindles my love for the style. I'm not entirely sure what it is, probably the double zip and the fact it's not with the typical diamond shapped padding either.

Anyway ladies, essay over!
I hope you've had a lovely weekend, as delayed as that may be and I hope you're not finding it too hard not to empty your bank accounts doing your own weekly wishlists!

Thanks for reading!

OOTD: Skirts and Stripes

Denim Jacket | Primark
Stripey Boob Tube | H&M
Maxi Skirt | Matalan
Necklace | Primark
Shoes | Miss Guided
(Sorry for a close up picture of my feet! Haha)

Hello ladies!

This is just my outfit from yesterday, I went to visit my Nan. I got this maxi skirt a few months ago now and this is only the second time I've worn it, and I don't often wear stripes anymore, so this was a bit of an unusual combination for me! I went into town and had a little shop in the sale Topshop.. Possibly one of my favourite shops, even though it is like a jumble sale. I will have a little haul post showing my purchases :) I also got a few cheeky bits from Boots too- again another post.

I wore 'Alarm' lipstick as I showed in one of my recent posts and it stayed on for hours without a budge. I was very pleased!

I was hanging around for my Nans gardener to go so I could have taken some pictures in the nice weather but he showed no signs of going before it was getting a bit dark to take them- so this is why my feet are non existant in the first picture and a little out of focus. Sorry guys! I will have to get used to the OOTD posts haha.

I hope everyone had a lovely week, it's Friday now yaay! (Not that it really makes a difference to me as I work all weekend but ya'know.)

Anyway, enough with the ramblings..
Thanks for reading lovelies

P.s. Do you prefer my fashion posts or beauty? Let me know if there's anything you'd like to see me post about! :)

Weekly Wishlist

1. Ballet Pumps| H&M | £14.99
2. Lipstick |Topshop | Sartorial | £8.00
3. Zip Back T-shirt | River Island | £20.00
4. Curve Hem Tank | Topshop | £10.00
5.Black Rave Pants | Ark Clothing | £34.99
6. Linked Cuff | Topshop | £12.50

I'm finally back after well over a week of not blogging and I have missed it! It's hard to say that seeing as I've only done five posts but none the less, I am back.

At the moment, I feel like I'm kind of experimenting with posts, finding ones which I like to write and also what you guys want to read, as ultimately they are pretty much the only reasons I'm here! I seem to have slipped a little on the fashion front and thought this post would be an ideal recurrence seeing as I've been spending all my time internet window shopping recently with not a penny in my pocket (Yay for payday!)

Ballet pumps are something which I cannot get enough of. I love the combination of the nude and the gold rhinestones, I think they compliment each other so well! And for £14.99 it's not a price you have to justify!
I haven't actually tried any Topshop make up at all, and is something which I definitely plan on doing in the near future. Lipsticks are something that I have been paying a lot more attention to recently, and I'm finding it almost impossible to find a shade that suits me but yet doesn't make my teeth look like sweetcorn. Oh well, it's just trail and error I guess for people like me that haven't got a clue what they're talking about!

Rooting round my wardrobe in the scorching weather we've had recently, I noticed an enormous lack of plain tops. Now plain tops have always been something that I mean to go out and buy, but instead come back with everything patterned or stripey or god knows what. Seeing as I'm going to be at Uni in less than a few months, (and I am going to be POOR) I feel that some plain, baggy and comfy tops are pretty high on my agenda, as they can be worn all year round.

Now for the knock-off disco pants.. I have read so many reviews on the different dupes of American Apparels forever famous Disco Pants and every time I see them I just want to snap them up and let them be MINE. I've ummed and arred more than a few times and being the tight wad that I am, I can't seem to part with the money for something which I'm worried may look awful on me! Hmm, maybe I'll do some more thinking on that one...

And finally, the cuff. I don't normally look at Topshop's jewellery unless it's in the sale, or to be honest I rarely step inside Topshop unless it's to go to the sale but seeing as this is a 'wishlist' I guess there's no harm in looking and pretty much certain I won't buy! This cuff I think it a little steep, but I can imagine it looking so dainty and timeless on. I may just have to hunt down a cheaper version on good ol' ebay.

Just quickly before I go, you may have read in my introductory post that I'm pretty much on a film marathon summer.. I would much appreciate it if you could give me a heads up on some 'unmissable' films!

Is there anything you're lusting over at the minute? What's your favourite wardrobe staple pieces?

Thanks for reading!

Today's Outfit

Jumper| Matalan
Necklace| Matalan (Similar here)
Leggings| H&M
Bag| Matalan
Shoes| Miss Guided
Ring| eBay
First of all, I appologise for the awful picture of me. I look somewhat very interested in the camera but with a hint of disgust. I'm un-photogenic it's a joke and the fact that the old man next door was spying on me didn't help either!
Today's weather has been very strange. This morning when I went out it was very dark and drizzly, but by the time I came back the weather was b-eau-tiful, so much so that I had to get changed after this because even though the jumper's light it was NOT doing it for me.
Anyway, I know a lot of this outfit is from Matalan and i'm aware that a lot of people don't like it. I often go in and come out with the odd bits, mostly jewellery. (Their jewellery is SO nice, always on sale for £2 or less and very similar to Topshop). My bags also from Matalan and it's easy to say i've probably worn it to death by now. It's pretty tatty and stretched but I just refuse to throw it away.
The leggings are from H&M but I actually won them on eBay, so I'm afraid I couldn't tell you how old they were.. although the label says they're from the kids section, which is always nice surprise!

More blog posts to come, I'm thinking of showing you my favourite lipsticks or jewellery pieces, what do you think?
